President’s Message for April 2006Are You Interested? So, things are beginning to happen. There are signs of life in our part of the PCA world post-Katrina. We held our first DE in February at EVOC and will be hosting another DE the end of this month at NPR. Our monthly member meetings are once again being held and I’ve begun to receive more e-mails from people wanting to know this and that concerning MGRPCA. I am happy to report that for the first time, Mardi Gras Region and Whiskey Bay Region are co-hosting a DE day. This is the aforementioned DE on April 30th at NPR. The folks at Whiskey Bay are also in the process of getting back on their feet and expressed interest in joining Mardi Gras in hosting a few events this year. The April DE should be a good one because of the input from both regions. This would also be a good opportunity for anyone who has not been to a DE before but wanted to know what all the fuss was about, to come out and watch or perhaps even volunteer to help out. There should be a good turnout from both regions, so why not join the fun? I am also very pleased to officially announce that Paul Tellarico has agreed to be our Club Race Chairman for the Mardi Gras Region “Blastin’ the Bayou” club race presented by Greff Motors set for November 2006. Paul, known to his closest friends as “Fireball” Paul, is a very active PCA club racer, racing a bright red 1989 944S2. He has already hit the ground running and started enlisting volunteers to chair various groups to make sure that our club race is our best yet. He has also given me his personal guarantee that this year’s event will not be interrupted by anything short of a major hurri….wait a minute! Oh well, I’ll talk to him about that later. If anyone is interested in volunteering for a committee, sponsoring a part of the event, or would like to help out in some way, please contact Paul. His email is ptellarico@nbalawfirm.com So, if you ARE interested, come out and join us celebrating everything Porsche. Come out to a meeting, attend a DE, volunteer for a committee, or send me an e-mail with suggestions on things you would be interested in doing with the club. Scott Foremaster
