President’s Message for June 2006

Slow Days of Summer

Well summer doesn’t officially begin for a few more weeks but for the Mardi Gras Region PCA, we’re in the typically slow time of our event calendar. Since there is never much interest in doing much in the sauna that is New Orleans weather, we usually don’t have many events planned through the hottest three or four months of summer. However, we do still hold our monthly meetings and I would urge our members to participate in as many meetings as they can. It is an excellent way to keep up with current scuttlebutt.

One event I hope we will have within the next four to six weeks will be a shop tour of the new facilities at Greff Motors. If you have not seen the new shop (located on Airline Drive down the street from Zephyr’s Stadium), it’s a far cry from the old shop. It has plenty of parking with an abundance of shop and showroom space. I have spoken to Randy Greff about hosting an open house type of event and he has expressed an interest; we just have to pick a date. Stay tuned to the website for a future announcement.

Finally, you will continue to read (and hear – if you attend our meetings) about our club race in November. Paul Tellarico is doing a fantastic job as our race chairman but we still need more help. This is our biggest event of the year and it takes a lot of planning and effort by everyone involved. The more folks that help out, the easier things seem to go. Please contact Paul or myself (there are links to our e-mail addresses within this website) if you have any interest in volunteering, sponsoring, or donating freebies for our giveaways and door prizes. I hope to see you soon.

Hoping you always hit the apex,

Scott Foremaster
